Yo world! Hello, everyone knows how random I can get, and my infamous statement "jus cuzzz.", thats just how I am. Well anyway I have this writing class and my subject is on recycling. Many people asked me why in the world would you choose a topic like recycling. I really didnt know whyI chose recycling but I found out a lot of things about recycling. While I was doing my research on recycling I started thinking of ways that I could inform people to recycle or how I could get their attention for someone to recycle. I started thinking. I came up with something that I really, reeeally love. Everyone knows how crazy I am about shoes. So I found all kinds of things that you can recycle and wat I came up with is that, EVERYTHING can be recycled. I never knew that you could recycle shoes...Nike has this program called ReUse a Shoe. I got these steps off of Nikereuseashoe.com so if you are intrested this is how it works.
1. DROP 'EM OFF
It all starts with your old athletic shoes. Bring thme to any Nike Reuse-A-Shoe recycling location or one of our events. We'll take any brand, but check our shoe recycling guidlines before you toss tthem in the bin.
2. Ship em Out.
Once you've collected a large number of shoes, We ships them to one of their processing centers. We also look for most carbon-efficient shipping methods for maximum shipping
3. Grind em Up
At our recycling facilities, your old kicks are then sorted into three types of raw material: rubber from the outsole, foam from the midsole, and fabric fibers from the upper. We call these materials Nike Grind
4. Put em back in the game
If you thought your kicks had seen thier last play, think again. As Nike Grind, they could become part of an athletic surface, such as a court, track, field or playground and pre consumer material can even get used in NEW SHOES AND APPAREL!!!!
isnt that something, never would i have thought of this. Glad I looked into. You should try it!
